Option #1:
Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
Option #2:
The lessons we take from failure can be fundamental to later success. Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
还有,“failure”的含义其实很广,还可以包括你未能做什么:failureto apply yourself, failure to behave appropriately, failure to act, failing afamily member or friend, failure to listen, failure under pressure, a lapse injudgment … 等等。不管你的 failure 是哪一种,只要你从中反思和学习了,并且因此受益而成长为更好的你,这就是好的写作题材。
Option #3:
Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?
Option #4:
Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma--anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.
Option #5:
Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family.
I highly recommend the College Board SAT book and the McGraw Hill's "Top 50 Skills fora Top Score in Critical Reading and Writing" book instead...I have used the Kaplan materials in the past, but have found the College Board and McGraw Hill to be far better because the material is significantly more challenging, the strategies and tips are outstanding (they are the "key" to achieving a high score), and the drills are "real" in that they exactly mirror the actual exam. Essentially, College Board and McGraw Hill are on an entirely different level...they are designed for students who want to excel as top performers...as opposed to students who simply want to "pass the test" with a mediocre score. 作者: pp_dream 时间: 2015-9-23 06:10 标题: 回复 5楼pp_dream 的帖子
